Learn to Swim from Scratch in Tallinn

A programme for people who have never swum, or who feel afraid in water — adults and children from age 4. No standards to meet, no rush, and no need to already know anything. Lessons are taught in Russian or Ukrainian.

Who this is for

Adults who cannot swim

You can start at any age. Sessions run one-to-one or in a small group where everyone is at roughly the same level, so nobody is watching or comparing.

Fear of water

If water makes you anxious, the first sessions stay in the shallow end and move entirely at your pace. You go deeper only when you are ready.

Children from age 4

A first introduction to water through play. Sessions for ages 4–6 run 30 minutes; after that, 45.

Coming back after a break

If you could swim once but have not been in a pool for years, your coach starts from the level you are at now.

Session formats

One-to-one

Just you and the coach. Full attention on your technique and your pace. Usually the fastest route for absolute beginners and for anyone working through fear of water.

Small groups

Up to 4–5 people. A lower price per session and the encouragement of others starting where you are. You can switch formats along the way — many begin one-to-one and move into a group once the water feels comfortable.

Coaches and pools

Who you will train with

Sessions are led by Alisa Solomina and Nikita Dmitriev. Both speak Russian and Ukrainian, so lessons run in whichever of those you prefer — which matters most when the thing being explained is fear and breathing.

Three pools across Tallinn — Haabersti, Põhja-Tallinn and Lasnamäe. The pool and time are agreed when you book.
